Can't ile call stored procedures via
exec sql call MyStoredProc;

Be nice to have command interfaces to individual procedures.  In some ways 
that would be better than the current prototype technique.  Commands seem 
to be limited to CL only however.

IBM has put a lot into enhancing CL in V5R3.  I suspect that is not the 
end of it.  Keep those DCR's coming.

Can you call SQL via SQL-CLI?  If so, can't you use that in CLLE?
