And now for something completely different! Look into /QFileSvr.400 off the root of the IFS. This is a point where you can mount another iSeries' IFS and see it on yours machine. Non-file objects cannot be moved or copied, but files can, including SAVFs. I think you just MKDIR /QFileSvr.400/other-system-name I don't remember whether it is an IP name or what - do a search at www.iseries.ibm.com/support on QFileSvr.400 and see what it says. It will let you copy (or move?) save files - put a 3 on the file and prompt it and fill in the local destination. You could even automate this, including the restores. And if you realy wanted some whiz-bang, start the REXEC server on the target machine and use RUNRMTCMD to it from the source machine - you can run your restoresm tec., that way from one machine.
