Hi List,

We are having an iSeries V5R2. The code page for DB2 is 273 (Germany).

As part of the expansion/globalization plans, we want to use
UTF-8/UTF-16 encoding schemes, which are supported only on V5R3. Thus,
after upgrading, we would set code page of DB2 files to 1208 (for UTF-8)
or 1200 (for UTF-16).

But our problem is that, our 5250 emulator (IBM Personal Communications
V4.3) does not support these host code pages. What is the solution to
this problem? Does a newer version (V5.5 or V5.8) support the host code
page 1208/1200? Or should we use iSeries Web Access? Are there any other
emulator products that support UTF-8/UTF-16?

Any suggestions/comments are welcome.

Thanks,
Ali Juzer
