If you are talking Query/400, consider using a combination of the DATE and CHAR functions. DATE will return just that, and CHAR has a 2nd parameter that specified the format of the date - things like ISO and USA and a couple others.

I found this by pressing F1 while in the Expression column in result fields. Remember my suggested poster -- "F1 is my friend!"

Similar things exist in SQL.
