Create a logical over it with appropriate substrings, maybe, although there'd 
still be a problem with packed fields. And use FTP instead of CPYTO* to PUT the 
LF to the IFS. But the from file in CPYTOIMPF can be an LF. Again, if there is 
packed data, you are toast. You could to write a UDF to convert a byte string 
into its numeric value and use a view. Wouldn't that be a kick - CPYTOIMPF from 
an SQL view? Or even FTP a view?
