Create the cmd OFF that does

ENDPASTHR
   monmsg cpf0000
SIGNOFF

and to handle a telnet sessions too change the signoff to 
SIGNOFF ENDCNN(*YES)

This won't be the right approach for everyone...

Maybe.  Why, doesn't SIGNOFF ENDCNN(*YES) work for both local and remote? 
Granted for local, it makes your iseries access 5250 session temporarily 
blank out and you'd better have reconnect turned on.
