Personally, I'd use FTP in batch instead of Client Access. Much simpler. We have a bunch of automated FTP scripts running to Windows servers. You don't need to have CA running on Windows; the FTP server is started on Windows by default. I wrote a couple of programs to automate the script-writing on the fly and to page the programmer if there is a problem with the transfer. I don't have access to them right now, but I can send them if you are interested. -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of SASchollenberger@xxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, September 28, 2005 12:52 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: Trying to use RUNRMTCMD to perform a data transfer to a Windowsserver QSYSPRT output: IBM AS/400 Client Access Express for Windows Version 5 Release 1 Level 0 Transfer data from AS/400 (C) Copyright IBM Corporation and Others 1984, 2000. Licensed Materials - Property of IBM Transfer file: D:\Winsnap\Import\FileTransfer.dtf Access is denied. D:\Winsnap\Import\FileTransfer.dtf I have a client who is trying to use the RUNRMTCMD in a job schedule entry to run a iSeries Access data transfer to download a file from their iSeries to a Windows server directory. They want the whole transfer to be done unattended on both sides. Typically, the Windows server is not logged into by the user FOOD that is running the job on the iSeries server. We are getting an "Access is denied" message in the QSYSPRT splf. The joblog shows no errors and shows that the job ended normally. The client's Windows administrator tells me that the FOOD user on Windows is authorized to the directory where the data transfer .tfr file has been placed. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. ---------------------- Scott Scott A.
