Ah, David. You've only posted a couple of messages, but already you've
shown more spin than a professional 9-ball player.

Let's cut through the malarkey, shall we? ASC's primary product line
has no migration option. They do sell the RIO product, of which one of
its options is conversion to C++ or Java and is primarily used for Java
conversions. Databorough also has an auxiliary tool, X-Migrate, which
can convert programs to either WebSphere or .NET, but again it's a very
small part of their overall strategy, and just one more tool in their
rather broad portfolios. With either company, they provide a wealth of
tools to help you extend your iSeries applications. Of course, if
you're dead-set on conversion, they can help you there too, and I
understand that.

This is in direct contrast to California Software, whose sole purpose in
life is to move people off of the iSeries, thus putting them much more
in line with Microsoft. Their marketing disinformation is also
legendary now, with the recent advertising campaign that was extensively
addressed on this very mailing list. Then again, I guess you can
measure a man by the company he keeps; this might also explain why ASC
and Databorough aren't part of the MAP.

In fact, the very fact that companies which might benefit from
association with your organization and yet choose not to do so says
volumes about integrity, both theirs and yours, I think.

Ah well, off my soapbox. Respond as you will, or won't, but do me a
favor and keep the VB advertisements on the PC Tech list where they
belong, eh?

Joe
