STRPCCMD issue with opening files -- MIDRANGE-L

  I am using the STRPCCMD command to open Microsoft Project files on a
  network drive.  My issue is with MS Project starting and opening a new
  file if the file specified in the STRPCCMD command is not found.  Is there
  an error I can MONMSG if the file is not found so I can bypass starting
  the program?
