That's definitely not my experience.  I spent 9 hours in O'Hare while 
United was doing their thing screwing up their own schedules.  I was 
originally supposed to have a 90 minute layover, but it turned into 9 
hours and I only got out then because I was nasty/persuasive enough to a 
CSR to get me on the last available flight that night!
