Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@midra nge.com> COMMON has been to Nashville - 2001 or there abouts. Never to Knoxville or Chattanooga. I live in TN; I don't go to either unless there's a warrant out for me. It has never been to Charlotte, though. Charlotte, at COMMON's current size, could more than accommodate a conference, and it's a great city (used to live there). And the weather is pretty decent either Spring or Fall. There are a lot of places like Charlotte and Nashville that could hold COMMON currently. Many moons ago, when I was part of the planning for these things, that wasn't the case, but times change. Part of the problem is airport facilities; the city pretty much has to be at least a 2nd tier (one stop off from Chicago, DFW, etc.), and with a decent volume at that so that everyone can get in/out all at once basically. Charlotte and Nashville can handle that requirement, and there are probably some other decent places that could (make up your own list). Personally, I like towns like these and Indianapolis (why not Des Moines or Boise?). * Jerry C.
