Just tried it against a running 5250 session.
iSeries Navigator.
Right click on SQL performance Monitors
New, Detailed, Picked the 5250 job from Monitored jobs.

went to 5250
Called the program shown at 
http://code.midrange.com/index.php?id=fadb602497

back in nav
Right click on the monitor I created and selected List explainable 
statements and the DECLARE CURSOR popped up.
Selected that and clicked run visual explain.

But that is the first time I ever used visual explain and I just used the 
help to figure it out.
