Have you tried the job/session date in CHGJOB?
During Y2K testing we put that into a CL so that people could change their current session to whatever date they were testing.

Unfortunately some software uses the date time from the system, which we not want changed impacting other jobs on the system, and some software uses the job/session date.

So when we sign on, we get a job/session date, which is a copy of the system date ... and if people are left signed on overnite, are they still the previous day ... CHGJOB can change the date of that session to simulate what happens on a distant date, but the system date remains correct.

Hi All,

We have a requirement in our project to change the system date of a particular 'Job' (session). It should not update the entire System Date, but should allow changing (or say simulating) to a different date for that particular job/session.

There is a software called ' ANYDATE' developed by Advanced System Concepts. But, this software is not compatible with the V5R3 machines.

Please let us know if you are aware of any other products that are compatible with all versions of AS/400. Also, please let us know if you are aware of any programmatic approach for simulating a different system date and time for a particular job/session.

TIA,

Nanda
