I question whether it would be faster, but a simple delete would be:
C/EXEC SQL
C+ Delete from MYFILE
C+ where mykey = :myVar
C/end-exec
and myVar is defined in your rpg program
Now, an alternative is to journal the files in question and use commitment
control. Set up a commit boundary on all of the files. Then, in simple
RPG, you could do (4 file example instead of 7):
write(e) filea;
if not %error(filea);
write(e) fileb;
if not %error(fileb);
write(e) filec;
if not %error(filec);
write(e) filed;
if not %error(filed);
commit;
else;
rollback;
endif;
else;
rollback;
endif;
else;
rollback;
endif;
else;
rollback;
endif;
