Yes!!  I think that's perfectly acceptable and sysadmins shouldn't resist it
since it won't affect anything else.

I wish!  I could use a vacation in Italy.
Among many other things, IBM's Tivoli software has a system management
module that's standards based, so I used it as an example of something that
would consume the webservice (http://tinyurl.com/9p92r).
