I go to COMMON for the conferences.  There was talk, years ago, about not 
going to certain venues in order to encourage attendance at BOF's, etc 
(even the classes themselves).  If you want a "compucruise" then register 
for one of the other conferences that appear in exotic places like San 
Marcos island and spend your time on the beach.  Indy was a great idea. 
They call it the cross roads of America because more highways intersect in 
that town than any other place in the nation.

As far as the family co-attending and wanting something to do - I spent a 
week in Rochester MN this summer and the wife and kids found plenty to do. 
 And if they can find something in Rochester...
