Does the program call any other procedures or programs that might override
the print file? QCMDEXC, for example? Does it have a data structure or
compile time array containing an override command? Presumably there is an
explicit open for the printer file? If you're really stuck I would try
stepping though it in debug until you reach the point where it's opened.
That ought to enable you to identify the point at which the override is
happening.
