how about

SELECT * FROM logivdtl WHERE IVTMST between '2005-08-12-00.00.00.000000' 
and '2005-08-12-23.59.59.999999'?

That should do the trick.

How would I select on a timestamp field?

SELECT * FROM logivdtl WHERE IVTMST like '2005-08-12-%'
Operand not valid in LIKE predicate.
