There was a new system value added some releases ago called QCFGMSGQ, where
configuration messages can be redirected. The shipped value is 'QSYSOPR
QSYS'. An alternate message queue is also shipped called 'QCFGMSGQ QSYS'.
The intent is for you to redirect messages there.

Two words of caution:

1. If you change the value to QCFGMSGQ, your default printer messages
will be sent there, so you likely want to reconfigure your printers to use
message queues that make more sense.
2. The system automatically clears QSYSOPR on each IPL, but not
QCFGMSGQ, to you may desire putting a clear message queue statement into
your customized QSTRUP code.

How do I prevent these messages from cluttering up QHST? There're the
result of ODBC requests from a Wintel server to our i5. We get them pretty
much 24/7.
