There was a new system value added some releases ago called QCFGMSGQ, where configuration messages can be redirected. The shipped value is 'QSYSOPR QSYS'. An alternate message queue is also shipped called 'QCFGMSGQ QSYS'. The intent is for you to redirect messages there. Two words of caution: 1. If you change the value to QCFGMSGQ, your default printer messages will be sent there, so you likely want to reconfigure your printers to use message queues that make more sense. 2. The system automatically clears QSYSOPR on each IPL, but not QCFGMSGQ, to you may desire putting a clear message queue statement into your customized QSTRUP code.
