yeah, but I just don't want to give folks the wrong impression that they could do a total restore this way.. You still need to have a full savsys to boot from alt ipl dev for restore...

Do they have a windows server inhouse by any chance that has some space on
it?  If so, backup to savf's then ftp binary them to your windows
server...then from there spin them off to a removeable drive periodically...
Won't replace what you need from a savsys and I recommend a save/21
periodically still, but if they're not doing any
user/security/dev/application maintenance and just need offlines of the
production libs, then this should work.   Also make sure your LF's are in
the same lib as your PF's...

And, this will work with a unix server as well as a windows one...

Just off the top of my balding little head before I start counting punch
cards...:)
