They don't have good systems, no. But they do have good people. After searching through a BUNCH of things, a couple of folks over there finally found all the information. As it turns out, I've been paying $2000 a year for HARDWARE maintenance, not software maintenance, so I was indeed without an SWMA. I think $2000/year on a $24,000 machine is reasonable, but considering it's almost as much as the lease really makes it painful. But I digress. Now I just have to decide which machine I want. I'll throw this out to the audience: do you think RAID on a 35GB machine is worth $5700? If so, why? I'm having a hard time justifying it in my mind. The other question is whether I want to essentially double my cost from an $11,000 machine to a $22,000 machine (which means going from $200/mo to $400/mo) to get the extra 500CPW and 1GB of RAM necessary for Portal.
