As I understand it, you are simply trying to retrieve the records in the same order they were written. The key doesn't have to be the RR#. It could just be a sequence number or even a date and time stamp. If you really do need the RR# you can obtain that after you read the record. You could then reuse deleted records, which would make your physical file smaller. ----- Original Message ----- From: "David C.
