Many of the SNA functions will continue to be supported via Enterprise Extender. No price, if any, for Enterprise Extender is mentioned on the web site. Many of the SNA functions will NOT continue to be supported. Even with Enterprise Extender. http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/support/planning/futuresftwr.html http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/support/planning/v5r3suggested_alternatives.html You can also count twinax adapters going the way of the dodo bird. It seems that, in the future, the only way to hook up twinax will be via third party appliances. For example a Perle device that attaches via TCP/IP and then supports twinax on the other side. However, it is currently saying only that new twinax adapters will not be marketed. It does NOT say they will drop support for existing twinax adapters with new i5 models of hardware or versions of software. "...Another alternative may be previously owned twinax controllers...." http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/support/planning/v5r3suggested_alternatives.html Rob Berendt
