Assumptions:

#1. the iSeries or AS/400 in question is on OS/400 V5R2 or i5/OS V5R3 ...
#2. you have the CD at your location,

Then, you can do this:

1. copy an image of the CD to the iSeries, via FTP, etc., in the IFS
2. create an "Image Catalog" ...
3. you will then be able to follow the vendor's instructions, such as
LODRUN, etc., substituting the name of the virtual optical device name you
created when you created your image catalog, e.g. VRT01 versus OPT01 ...

The IBM InfoCenter for V5R2 or V5R3 has lots of info. on creating and using
an "Image Catalog" ...
