If you are on v5r3 and use SQL to create the trigger.

CREATE TRIGGER mytrigger BEFORE UPDATE OF somecolumn...


Otherwise no.

However, using RPG or an pre-v5r3 version of SQL you can compare the values of 
the field in the before and after image buffers to determine if you need to run 
your procedure.  Same exact effect, just requires a little more work (code) on 
your part.
