Sure, you could use it in place of a system console - I did it on a system which needed to have a fancy-looking console but they required twinax. If HMC had been out then, we'd just have gone that route, but since it wasn't, I rounded-up a card, threw it in an old PC, and got a 19-inch flat panel - looked fantastic. IBM black keyboard, IBM black flat panel, IBM black mouse - all sitting on a sidecar of a multi-million 870. Very nice. Justin C.
