Many thanks for your suggestion.  That would change it on a 5250 screen 
or emulator although I have a vague memory that OS/400 won't let you put 
hex codes below X'40' in messages.  However I need to solve the problem 
for a browser.  I could put HTML in the message but it would look 
strange on a 5250 sign on screen.
