Normalization was Left the AS/400...

Good points Brad

        On passing, I was wondering, and I imagine several others in the group 
would also, if there is a software tool 
        available, that can analyze a DB, and make recommendations towards 
normalization.
        This really is an 'elephant' of a problem, because one knows full well 
that continuing down the road will simply lead 
        to a lot of excessive work, and coding, etc, while getting managements 
approval to 'normalize' the data base will
        in all likelihood fall on deaf ears.

        This problem is, as you are aware, is not limited to home grown 
databases, but also to a plethora of 'professionally' designed
        systems,(usually out-sourced), that are very prone to non normalized 
databases.(gosh, what a wonderful way to generate $)

        Any hints?..
