I'm not a 100% on this, but I'm not aware of any
commercial processor that approachs the speed of
a 9406-595 ??? (one year old machine)

From the sales manual:

IBM eServer i5 595

The IBM eServer i5 model 595 is the largest iSeries server ever announced with up to 165,000 CPW and 1TB of memory.

It is offered as an 8/16-way, 16/32-way, and 32/64-way server.

This is a seriously fast machine no matter how you measure
speed.

I suspect the P series "cousins" holds any other records that
might be available. P5-595

But the iSeries isn't particularly fast, and for sure isn't
sexy. But that doesn't mean it isn't powerful.
