Good morning, all -

Curious if anyone has any better info on availability of WORM tape
(specifically LTO Ultrium 3) for the iSeries rather than what I've
gotten from IBM. What I have heard is essentially saying it will be
available soon, hopefully later this year. No exact date, but
confirmation that it is in-pipeline.

The press release at lto.org and ultrium.com state that in October of
2004 the specification for WORM LTO was available. So the hardware
manufacturers have had six months now.

I know the 3592-J1A drive would work for WORM storage (60 GB and 300 GB
carts) which is non-optical for now - but rather than restart our tape
investment, I'd like to stick with the same media footprint and be able
to leverage that existing investment in media for non-WORM requirements.

Comments or additional info would be appreciated - thanks!
