The company I am co-oping with (I am a student) has asked me to do
replacement research for two IBM 3490E model'F's. The 3490s evidently are
consuming an exorbitant amount of money in media and maintenance. These tape
drives are being used for journal receivers and a few things needed to go
onto fiche (cd). I have a couple questions I would like help with.

1. Besides the IBM 7210 Model 25 (and 30) what other DVD "Burning" options
are available? Though I feel I am very Google worthy, I can't find any other
DVD burners for the AS/400. I think an internal drive would be preferred.
What are your thoughts on going in this direction?

2. Okay, so that was the disk for tape replacement, I have heard of a few
other more creative ways to back things up such as using the FISOP (also
known as IPCS, or XAEI) and burning in a Windows environment.
With this said, does IBM now support Windows2003 Server installed on
XAEI? 2000Server is currently installed.

Any other suggestions or recommendations are appreciated.
