Custom manufacturing software

I have a new client here in Chicago who's running (don't laugh) a 
9402-436. Along with the problems associated with that platform, their 
software is from a company that is out of business.

Their business consists of 4 plants. One plant is making the new products, 
two are refurbishing the used products for the company's customers, and 
one plant is making parts that supply the other 3 plants.

Each order is custom, much like an automotive package or a chemical 
company package, where a series of codes in the ordered item number call 
out a specific bill of materials. Does anyone know of a package that is 
geared toward this kind of environment?
