List / Steve, I have noticed that all the messages that Steve Landess posts to the Mid-range list are received here marked as " *** Spam ***". This began happening at approximately the same time that we outsourced our email services to "1and1". At the same time, we noticed that any email we send from our AS400 to another user here also gets marked as " *** Spam *** ". When we send email from the AS400 to recipients at other companies, they are received correctly. If we send the same message from the AS400 to a user "physically" here but at a Yahoo, MSN, Excite account, the mail comes through unmarked. We also are not able to have any emails reach one of our customers at an AOL account because the AS400 does not have a reverse DNS lookup. We are using Brad Stone's MailTool to send the emails from the AS400. The tech people at '1and1' have indicated that these emails are marked as spam because they have an incomplete header, i.e. it does not contain a valid DNS record entry. (I received this last info second-hand. Is "does not have a reverse DNS lookup" the same thing as "a valid DNS record entry"?) If we change our spam filter level at '1and1' to medium, these messages are no longer marked as spam, but we then get the opportunity to invest in all the new great penny stocks, refinance our mortgages at 3%, and "play all night long". I am really confused about this issue and hope I can get it resolved. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Steve, I am trying to discover what your email situation and ours have in common in order to find a solution. I don't know that the 2 issues are the same, they just appear to have the same symptoms. Are you sending these emails from an AS400? Are you using "MailTool"? Are you using "1and1"? TIA, Tim Kredlo Exterior Wood, Inc.
