Hi Siva, Here is some further information that might help you to choose a format to meet your requirements. i5 OS and OS/400 will let you choose any application format you desire when creating output that might ultimately be printed. If you choose 10 CPI and 380 columns as the maximum width for a line in your report, the operating system will determine that your report is therefore 38 inches wide. Typically most of IBM's original twinax attached printers had a maximum carriage width of 13.2 inches (this is where the system default of 132 columns at 10 CPI comes from). The operating system therefore has some intelligence in it regarding the capabilites of target printers. If you were to release the 38 inch wide spool file mentioned in the previous paragraph to a printer defined as a 3812 model 1, the system would realize that the target printer could not support paper that was 38 inches wide. A system message asking whether to truncate or wrap the information is typically displayed when this type of problem occurs. In my experience, if you respond to the message by pressing the enter key you usually get truncation at 132 columns. Another issue involves the SCS command that sets the maximum print position. It happens that the command uses a single hex byte to specify the MPP in columns so 255 columns is the largest value supported by the command. It is typically tied to the use of the CPI value in a printer file. If you want to use a line length greater than 255 columns, it is usually a good idea to specify the horizontal spacing with the printer file FONT parameter rather than CPI. In your case, I would suggest considering either Font 281 (20 CPI) or 290 (27 CPI). Personally I find the 27 CPI font to be so small that it is hard for me to read the text so I usually like to try and stick with the 20 CPI font styles whenever possible. If you are using Host Print Transform, you can then specify that one of the input trays in your device description or remote output queue definition has either A3 or Ledger paper in it (depends upon where you are located in the world). Using this larger size of paper and a printer that supports it, you will be able to fit your whole line of information on this size paper in landscape orientation when using a 27 CPI font. If you use the 20 CPI font, you will only be able to fit about 335 characters per line so you would need to follow one of the other poster's suggestions to specify the column where the query should wrap your report data. I hope this information helps you to understand your page formatting options, in support of your Run Query generated reports, a little better.
