I hear you buddy. I like iSeries Navigator. However that is an area
where I've not submitted all the pmr's and dcr's that I should have. I
suggest you might want to submit a pmr on your EVF... error and maybe a
DCR on your choice of Notepad over Code/400. I did like the way that WDSC
opened an xml file on the ifs. That was rather cool.

Subject
CODE open in iSeries Navigator

I posted the following in WDSC list with no response, so I'll try it here.
I'm not sure if it's a iSeries Nav issue or a WDSC issue. I would at
least
like confirmation that others have this problem . . .

In iSeries Navigator, when expanding the 'root' down to the individual
file
level and right-clicking on a file name, one of the options is "Code
Edit".
Trying a Code edit there never works, however. I always get an error box
stating "EVF2102 RC=32751 Host server name 192.168.0.1 not defined". (I
would like to know if others of you 1) have this option show up on a
right-click, and 2) whether it works).

When I look at settings within Code, 192.168.0.1 (the i5) is set up. Does
anyone know what I am missing here?

I know I can look at (and edit) IFS files via WDSC, but when I'm already
in
iSeries Navigator for other reasons, it would be a time saver.

Actually, what would really be swell was if plain old Notepad was one of
the
options in iSeries Nav.

Thanks.
