To my knowledge, this only affects email/SMTP if you use MSF, IFS date
stamps, and other UNIX-type stuff. I think the traditional OS/400 stuff
ignores this. Jobs that pull the current date and time get their information
from QDATE/QTIME or the job date/time.

Our value is +00:00. I assume I need to change it to -05:00. Will that
detrimentally impact anything else?

Check system value QUTCOFFSET. The IFS uses this to determine the time
applied to files.

Subject: Dates in folders

Within Windows Explorer, when I browse to a folder on the AS400, the
create or modify date and time indicate that the files were actually
updated 5 hours prior to when they actually were. I am assuming this
has
something to do with our time offset to GMT (we are on the east coast
of
US), but do not know how to "correct" this situation to actually
reflect
the proper time in WE.
Any ideas?
Dave
