You must be kidding, you just bought a brand new pager (from Verizon no
less) and it's not text capable? Tell them to fix it or you'll take
your business somewhere else. Not to mention they've already sold you a
cell phone with poor reception... I'd be livid.

To late.

The light came one, the pager was ordered, and now we need to get it to
work. I can get the modem to dial the number, but how do is send it the
error code and hit the # sign to send it on it's way?

Then you use a modem to dial the pager ID pause and DTMF message.
Actually
just call your local cell phone companies and have them give you a
loaner to
see which one gives you the best signal strength at your operators home.
If
you tell them that you want to switch your corporate cell phone service
to
the best signal provider you can usually get loaner cells for a couple
of
days with unlimited usages for free. Then throw away that crap pager
they
bought by mistake.

I just found out they did not purchase that type of pager. We can only
punch in DTMF tones that show up on the LCD of the pager
