I get roughly 200-300 spam emails a day. 2 days ago Supportline pointed out
to me that I can add RBLs (Realtime Black Lists) to i5 SMTP. I added 3 RBLs
and immediately cut my spam by 90%. I now get about 20/day.

RBL's need to be used with care. Some of them are far more aggressive than others.

I'm currently using: relays.ordb.org, bl.spamcop.net, dnsbl.njabl.org, list.dsbl.org, cbl.abuseat.org, and opm.blitzed.org.

Make sure you put some reference in the rejection message that indicates WHY the message is being rejected. Such as: "Rejected due to open relay, see http://<url to rbl lookup>?ip=<client ip>". I've had people tell me that they didn't realize they had an open relay, and a message to midrange.com informed them of it.

FWIW: There is *NEVER* a situation where an open relay is a reasonable solution. Any mail server that does not support authenticated or restricted relay should be abandoned with all haste.
