Peter, have you tried this: Run one of the statements (doesn't matter which). Run one statement and get a timing. Run the other statement and get a timing. The first run will prime the environment, and will give you a better comparison of the two statements in a "live" environment, especially if this is a statement that is run repeatedly. If you want the pure, ugly truth without any benefits of pooling and such, then Vern's suggestion of SETOBJACC and CLRPOOL is the way to go. This is more appropriate if you only run this command once in a while.
