Actually, you can.
The FTP commands need to go into a source file. It's documented somewere, but I believe the default is input in qtxtsrc. You can override to any file/member of your choice.
In your CL. Issuing the FTP command will execute all of the command in the source member. Remember to start with the login id and password.
Turn up logging while you are testing to see if it is working right.

I have never used it, but Scott Klement (who posts here frequently) created a set of API programs to allow the use of FTP from within a program.
