>From the ignite/400 list:

All,

After a very short tour of duty in the iSeries General Manager's role,
Mike Boreman has moved to IBM Sales in a WorldWide Software sales
executive position. I have just heard that Mark Shearer has taken on
the role of iSeries General Manager. Obviously more data will follow,
I do not know anything about Mr. Shearer as of yet, but thought I
would share this bit of breaking news. This was just announced at IBM this
morning.

A brief google on "Mark Shearer" at IBM.COM reveals several hits, but
I like this short two paragraph bio:
https://www-926.ibm.com/events/avcf/03avcf.nsf/webcontent/mlsbio

The new iSeries VP Marketing, Peter Bingaman has been most visible and
is responsible for the TV Ad campaign. Peter comes most recently from
IBM Software Group's SMB Marketing organization and has worked hard to
restore a business solutions focus to the iSeries (in addition to
server consolidation).

Mr Shearer has been a very senior member of Server Group working
closely with Bill Zeitler. Lets hope his diverse experience at IBM
brings positive leadership that see's the iSeries opportunity and
supports the work started by Mike Boreman and Peter Bingaman.

Mr. Shearer's background is impressive and diverse, so time will tell.
