Jeff - There is no need to mount the same tape on specific days of the week.
You don't have to work so hard to organize where data is stored on tape.
BRMS does this for you. That's one of its major strengths.

Create a media pool and let BRMS manage it for you. If you want to fully
utilize tapes tell BRMS to append data to existing tapes.

If you need to recover data, BRMS will easily find exactly what you want and
will tell you what tapes to mount.

Good luck!

Kenneth

Subject: BRMS question

I believe I have my strategy in place to start implementing BRMS next week
but I have a question.

I have a BRMS backup control group set up to run daily 5 days a week. How
do I have BRMS insure the correct tape is loaded? I want the same tape
loaded the same day every week. Call them MON, TUE, WED, THU, and FRI for
simplicity's sake. Is this something I have to do outside of BRMS with a
*EXIT command? Thanks.
