Actually it should rebuild itself, and any devices underneath it should
rebuild themselves. Heck, it might be a good idea NOT to bring them
across. Who knows how many are obsolete? Like the PC named for FRED who
no longer works here but you still have a FREDS1, FREDS2, FREDS3. If most
of the text on the devices begin with:
Device created for...
then it's a safe bet they were automatically created.
There is a small remote possibility that a device was later modified, like
assigning a default printer to a particular display or changing the
message queue to a particular printer to go to a user's message queue
versus the default of a message queue for that printer.

You could try SAVCFG. If that scares you then you could try
RTVCFGSRC CFGD(QVIRCD0001) CFGTYPE(*CTLD) SRCFILE(MYLIB/QCLSRC)
RTVOPT(*NET)
compile that, and run it on the new system.

What is *VWS-type QVIRCD0001 controller used for?

(old box is v5r2, new box is v5r3)

What is the QVIRCD0001 controller used for? Can I simply restore it
from a v5r2 savcfg to a brand new v5r3 system (separate boxes)?
