Hi

I have set up a folder in IFS in the root folder. I can use the CPYTOIMPF
command to copy data (*.csv) into the folder and can open it from my PC
using excel. But i need to create a file that i can delete from my PC.

The end result should be to use VB in excel to create an empty file, use the
RMTCMD command to run a CL program to create a *.csv file, populate a test
file, then allow excel to open the *.CSV file. But to do this i need to
create a file on the IFS folder that the VB script can test to see if it has
data in and then open the *.CSV file. But from the PC i can only read the
file.

Steve,

You use two different terms which are often confused as being the same thing
when they are actually different. You start by saying you have set up a
"file share folder" which means you have created a folder in QDLS (not in
the IFS) Then later you mention the IFS.
Are you using a shared folder (in QDLS) or are you using a directory in the
IFS?

Are you getting some type of error message when you try to delete the files
using Windows XP.

Subject: IFS File Share

Hi

I have set up a file share folder on the AS400 and whilst logged on to
Navigator i can cut paste delete files etc. When i use windows explorer i
can see the files and open them but not make any changes or put any new
files into the IFS folder. What have I not set up correctly?

My Windows and AS400 login are the same name and password - My AS400 and
Client Access are at V5.2 and I'm on Windows XP SP2

Regards
