Corrupt user message queues

We have been experience a high number of damaged message queues that are
causing jobs to hang when sending messages.  Once the job is ended we can
dspmsg from another user and a job runs to recover the message queue.  Has
any one else ever seen this?  We are at V5R2 and fairly recent on PTF's.  I
cannot find anything on IBM's site dealing with damaged message queues at
V5R2.
