This describes my setup almost perfectly, except that I'm running FreeBSD
instead of Linux. I use spamass-milter to interface Sendmail with
SpamAssassin and I use clamav-milter for virus scanning.

Then, I've got freshclam running to update the virus databases a few times
a day, and I'm pretty secure.

If nothing else, having it on a separate box means that an e-mail problem
won't interfere with other business functions! Since it costs next to
nothing (around $400ish if you buy quality hardware) to set up a FreeBSD
box to do this, I find it really hard to see why people try to do this on
the iSeries where the software isn't as good, and it can interfere with
other business practices.

A few months ago, I was hit with over 250,000 spams to one e-mail account
in one day. What would that do to your iSeries? How would that effect
your daily business?
