I started NTP client in V5R2.
Everything seems to be OK, but actually the system time was not


changed!!!.


That's because prior to V5R3, the NTP client changes only the software
clock, while the system time is derived from the hardware clock.
Starting in V5R3, there are many changes to the time support within
the OS; see the Memo to Users for more information.

Search the archives for more information on updating the hardware
clock via NTP on V5R2 or earlier systems.

I have a copy of one such system that News 400 put out a long time ago. I have made changes to it to be able to run under V5R2. If you are interested email me and I will send you the save file.
