You can get rack mounted disk in an 0595. 12 disks + a few PCI-X slots.
When I was running configs, 3 full 0595s + disks was a little more $ to
buy but cheaper on maintenance compared to a 5094.

Subject: I5 520 poor rack mount option

Hello all,

When the I5 was announce, I was verry happy to see that IBM finally
offered a rack mount option for it. This way, I tough, it will fit
better in my data center with all the other rackmounted equipment.

But, it aint so. If I have a lot of disk, we must use an extention
tower!!! We then find ourselve with an Iseries in part in a rack and in
part in a tower. That defeats the hole purpuse of rack mounting.

To me, it seems that IBM did a lousy job regarding this.

Does anybody know if this situation will last long?

Thanks, I needed to let go of a little steam.
