John, you're in luck.  I had the same problem, asked a speaker at our 
local user group the question and got an unbelievable answer:

Yes, there is such a function - it's kept secret by IBM not publishing it 
nor putting it into the "settings" or configuration dialogues.

I wrote it up as a "tech tip" and put it on my user group's web site at:
