S/36 and S/38 Migration

IBM plans for V5R2 to be the final release to support:
. OS/400 option 4 - S/36 and S/38 Migration
. OS/400 option 11 - S/36 Migration Assistant
...

There was also this -

site.  This site contains information such as Product Previews, Statements
of Direction, and products no longer supported on a release, with migration
plans, as available.

Has anyone else noticed that S36 Migration and the Migration Assistant
(options 4 & 11 of SS1)
are not supported in V5R3? see section 4.1 of Memo to Users. S36EE is still
supported.
Thanks to Al Barsa for pointing that out to me today.
Was there any advance warning on this?
If someone would please raise this issue with IBM at Common Sound Off. I've
got perhaps 10 migrations to do in next couple years. Will have to take an
intermediate step to a box with an earlier release.
